LASCO BRAZILIAN JIU- JITSU
Mateus was awarded his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by Master Fabio Gurgel (The General of the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Team).
Mateus’ journey in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu began over 22 years ago when he embarked on this transformative path as a BJJ student. In 2016, he opened a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym, Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Amparo, in the city of Amparo, SP, Brazil, serving as its Head Coach until 2022 when he moved with his family to Australia. During his years as a Head Coach in Brazil, he trained and promoted eight black belts. In 2020, he also assisted a BJJ gym in Florida, USA, in opening and gathering students. Additionally, he facilitated a connection for one of his black belts, Felipe Lemos, with a BJJ gym in Sydney, where Felipe has been coaching for over a year.
Mateus has participated in numerous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions around the world, including two World Championships in California, USA, the European Championship, the Pan-American Championship, and several other prominent championships in Brazil and Australia. In addition to competing, Mateus also planned and developed the technical and physical preparation programs for athletes who competed in some of the most renowned competitions across Brazil.
In the past 10 years, Mateus has attended numerous courses and webinars on topics including kids' methodology, beginners, self-defence, advanced techniques, and competition methodology. He has also completed international referee courses and worked in several competitions around QLD.
Lasco Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was born to bring over 22 years of experience and passion for Jiu-Jitsu. Lasco Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is registered with both the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the Australian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
